Schedule & Activities

When we think about what we want out of our wedding, our greatest wish is that we bring together a community of the people we love in a beautiful outdoor space. We are thrilled to have found Camp Friendship, a summer camp on five hundred acres of rolling hills in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

While we will definitely have some traditional wedding events, the weekend will also include tons of camp and outdoor activities: swimming, archery, horseback riding, nature walks, ultimate Frisbee, yoga, campfires, and, of course, s’mores. We’ll also have plenty of board games, puzzles, and hot cocoa in case of rain (but let’s hope it doesn’t come to that!).

Friday

10:00 a.m. — Registration opens in the Main Lodge. When you arrive at the camp please make your way here first.

11:30 a.m. — Camp lunch starts. If you haven't signed up for lunch (or any other meal) let us know soon if you'd like to join.

1:30 p.m. — Lunch service ends.

2:00 – 5:00 p.m. — Swimming hours!

5:00 – 7:00 p.m. — Volleyball with Chris and Lura.

7:00 p.m. — Cookout on the beach. Everyone's invited.

9:30 p.m. — Camp fire with s’mores and a sing-a-long.

11:00 p.m. — Night hike with Amy.

Saturday

8:30 – 9:15 a.m. — Yoga with Mia.

9:00 – 10:00 a.m. — Morning swim.

9:30 – 10:15 a.m. — Family story time/music circle with Charmagne.

10:00 a.m. — Camp brunch starts (come any time before it closes at noon).

10:00 – 11:00 a.m. — Nature walk with John.

11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. — Canoeing.

11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. — Archery.

12:00 noon — Brunch service ends.

12:00 – 2:00 p.m. — Ultimate frisbee with Kristy.

12:00 – 2:00 p.m. — Volleyball with Chris, Kat and Lura.

1:00 – 3:00 p.m. — Afternoon swim.

2:30 – 3:30 p.m. — Yoga with Mia.

4:30 p.m. (sharp) — Wedding ceremony at Chapel Grove.

5:30 p.m. — Cocktail hour.

6:30 p.m. — Reception dinner begins.

Dinner, dancing, and celebration.

Sunday

9:30 – 11:00 a.m. — Tennis with Brian.

10:00 – 11:00 a.m. — Horseback riding.

10:00 a.m. — Wedding brunch starts.

11:15 a.m. — Camp closing ceremonies (during brunch).

12:00 noon — Brunch service ends.

Plan to check out by early afternoon.

Meals

We’re covering the rehearsal dinner, reception dinner, and Sunday brunch. In addition, you have the option of joining us for a tasty camp lunch on Friday and Saturday. These are $12 per person per meal and of course there will be vegetarian options available.

Let us know if you have any allergies or dietary restrictions so that we can be sure they’re taken into account.

If you haven't registered for some meal but you will be able to join us for it, please let us know as soon as possible.
